Overview
Access to folders in Outlook is controlled by permissions. The owner of a folder can change the permissions of that folder. A folders permissions control who can see the folder and who can create, read, modify and delete items in the folder. Initially you are the owner of all folders in your mailbox and any folders you create. As the owner you can grant other users permission to view the folder and to perform certain activities on the items in that folder. The extent of the activities that can be performed in a folder depends on your role (or combination of permissions) in that folder, as described next.
